It is worth reflecting at the start of the year how far we have come. We were formed just over a year ago now. I could not have imagined one year ago the extent and pace of positive change that would happen. It feels like we are at a tipping point on mental health. Some of our members have well established programmes. Others are starting out. All of us are learning from each other. People at organisations are starting to speak out.
We have seen the business media, the Financial Times, The Economist, Financial News, The Lawyer and Bloomberg, amongst others, cover mental health stories in a constructive and balanced way that was rare two years ago, and almost unthinkable five years ago.
And while the CMHA certainly cannot claim credit for all of these positive developments, we believe we, and our members, have made a significant contribution.
To build on our success, we have an ambitious programme for 2015. One particular point I would like to stress is that we are having a members’ meeting on 12 February to discuss and agree our long-term strategy. We would love to hear your thoughts so please do come along. Further details on this meeting are set out below.
Our new website is now up and running. Please do get in touch with our Head of Communications, Bruce Wraight, via the CMHA email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to contribute content. The more we can share with each other, whether its personal stories, information about our mental health programmes, useful contacts and so on, the greater progress we can make together.
